• McGuire Peak Cloudscape

I tried the upper trail into the McGuire Peaks preserve at Sunol Regional Wilderness and it was pretty steep.

As I started reaching the top I opted for a cross country route. I went directly up the ridge on the theory that from the top I could see more then from the trail which traversed the ridge gaining altitude the whole way...

Well... I could see more from the top but not where the trail went when it cut around the end of the ridgeline through a copse of trees and down into the next ravine.

I did get a stellar viewpoint for some cloud watching and lunch. When I was done I made several panoramic cloudscapes before moving onwards towards the McGuire peaks formation.

There are always those days where the clouds are spectacular and this was certainly one of them...

This is a 45 megapixel image made from a number of frames of Canon 5D Mark II data shot with the 24-105mm lens.
